Creative communication - appreciation of desired tone

The tone will help the audience appreciate and like the ident. For example, if a comedy channel had a serious tone to their ident then it would annoy the viewers as they are looking for a comedic tone.

Creative communication - appealing to a target audience

TV channels can appeal to their audience by having celebrity endorsements to attract their audiences. This is effective because they have a celebrity that can relate to the channel.

Limtation Aspect Ratio

This is simply how people view a TV channel on their screen. When a screen goes from 16:9 to a 4:3 there is no change. However when the ident is created this source but then is shown on a 16:9 monitor it has pillars ever side.

Limitations Size

When creating TV idents it is important to consider the size of peoples TV screens. The most common aspect ratio is 16:9, which is the standard HDTV format. However TV channels tend to keep their information smaller than that in a 'safe area' as people may have older TV's.

Limitations Colour

This is probaly one of the most important factors when creating an indent as you have to incorporate the channel colors into it, these colors depend on the target audience of the TV channel. For example, a childrens channel will incorporate simple and bright colours. On the other hand a channel like BBC one will use red and black as they are a corporate TV channel.

Limitations - Resolution

TV idents are limited sometimes due to what the viewers have at home in terms of technology. For example idents will look better if the costumer themselves have a 4K TV. On the other hand, someone with a box TV will be limited as the technology is outdated and can't handle the high quality.

Creative communication - creating under pressure of time and budget

Time
A TV channel main problem is time, depending on the agreement they have in place will dictate how long they have to create the ident. For example, you might have to put your new ident out with the release of a new TV show. The example I went for is E4's release of their robot mascot eefer as this was released with the series of Big Bang Theory. The rush can limit a designers creativity as they are under pressure all the time.

Budget
The other main problem that TV channels may face is the budget as this dictates what you can do creatively. For example if you were a small channle then you would have less money to work with rather than a bigger channel. Smaller channels can compete with this by being more humorous than visually appeasing.
